NP 435 trans. in a shortbed?

Post by 66fordtrucknut »

Did they ever put a np 435 in a shortbed? I believe the output shaft is different on them. My 66 shorty needs a trans., I have one laying around, really don't want to lay out a bunch of money on a different one and kinda like the look of that big ol shifter coming through the floor. Will it work somehow?

Ford put them in later model short bed 4x4s. So I don't see a reason why it won't fie a Slick. Driveshaft might be an issue but that's an easy fix.

NP435's over this side of the pond. Althought I have no idea about FE bolt patterns, mines behind a cleveland. It does fit fine though.

I still have the bellhousing from my 352, both came out of my old 250 C/S. Thanks
