My son had the same nasty note left on his car in a pay lot here in Omaha. There was a guy in a booth who refused to take his $8 after the fact. I spoke to our city attorney who said the outrageous fee they were demanding was not enforceable and that they should pound sand so I never paid it. I got an equally nasty letter from some attorney from Colorado telling me to pay or else. I never paid and that was three years ago. Nothing has happened, no liens, not more nasty letters, nothing. If I were you, I'd check with someone like your city attorney to see if it is something you could do like pay the $5.

Doc, it seems like jury duty brings out the frustration in all of us because
as you already said, the parking situation around couthouses is ridiculous. Unless you
live in a small community where parking is easy, you have to go through this BS and
with the chickenfeed they pay you to do it, it is nothing but a huge hassle. If it is one
thing I have learned about this, it is to try and park a couple of blocks away in a lot with attendants on duty for your peace of mind and to avoid the hassle you had. Or, get someone to drop you off and avoid the parking hassle completely. Just my :2cents: TR
