Hey guys. I want to know what the hassles are when installing a aod trans out off a '95 econoline.
i know it will fit my 300 cui l 6 but its electronical so no tv cable.
What do i need to get this working? The trans is still in the econoline.
Do i need the computer and stuff?
Or is this a no go?
Thanks

can i install a aod transmission out a 1995 econoline?

I wouldn't use the AODE - cost too much for the electronic management unless you also swap in the EFI engine to go with it.
Get yourself a non electronic AOD and use the Lokar TV cable - Speedway has a good price on it.

I don't think the newer tranny has a speedo either which means an electronic speedo or adapter will be needed, stay old school AOD and save time and money
why put off till tommorow what you can put off alltogether

See the above site they have control electronics to shift your tranny. You start off with a base program then you can change the shift pattern to what you want. Also with it being a 95 you should still have your VSS hole (98 ish is when the vss left the tranny and went to the rear end) which you can still get a VSS/Cable speedo combo and keep your current speed o meter.
Hope this helps.

Thanks guys
this helps a lott...
This will be a no go then...
I will search for a 4.6 v8 and a trans to do the complete swap. Should be not that difficult...
those combo's are around here out of thunderbirds....and cheap to.
What do you guys think?

How are people getting their speedometer cable to work with the VSS style AOD tailshafts? Got a 91 AOD and want to get my speedometer working. Don't want to swap tailshafts as it is all installed and working good right now. Read somewhere there are early 80's fullsize bronco speedo cables that will work. Not sure that is the case, what would make those any different than a F150/250 cable?PFM-64f100 wrote:http://www.usshift.com/?gclid=CLrNqtXti ... aQodGU0A_g
