Re: Gauge Pod
I bought a instrument panel from a Slick 60's member.
It came from an F-800.
It has tach, vacuum, amp and oil pressure.

Re: Gauge Pod
I will convert the vacuum gauge to pressure and use it for a boost gauge.

Re: Gauge Pod
Are those tachs gear drive? I would like to have a set like that but not sure how to do the gear drive. Did the 332 FE in the old trucks have a dizzy with the gear drive for the tach? Wonder how hard it would be to find all of this stuff. Wonder what it would cost!!!

I don't know about the FE engines but there was a distributor with a tach drive for the 300 6 cylinders.

Re: Gauge Pod
332,361,391 etc. is not FE but FT there are differences. the tach on those is gear driven off the distributor.
in the salvage yard look for cabovers and bigger trucks to find the FTs

Re: Gauge Pod
Are the FT and FE parts generally interchangeable? Not to concerned since that tach is electrical, but curious.

Re: Gauge Pod
Nice work on the aluminum panel. fits well, like it was meant to go there.
I always thought those tachs were mechanical? Should have paid closer attention!

Re: Gauge Pod
FT dizzy will not fit in a FE block. The base of the FT dizzy gear is larger than the FE.

Re: Gauge Pod
You can get the tachs electrically driven and higher rpm range from the bronco vendors now. A member on here has done it and it looked great.
Black water forge, did you hook up the vac gauge? I have one but there is no tee on the back of the gauge just a hole?!

Re: Gauge Pod
supposed to be a fitting on the back, takes 1\4" brake line about 6" long then a rubber hose to the fitting on the intake manifold.
