Re: Very blue 66 project swap
you nailed it on the color choice!!! i don't normally like whitewalls on our trucks but in your case it looks so rite!!
Re: Very blue 66 project swap
Thank for the compliments to you both, to hear one say they arnt fond on the whitewall look on our trucks (slicks) but say it looks good on mine is received as a fairly powerful compliment!
For a guy who has always liked the big billet wheel look on most of my projects, It took a lot of personal thought a self convincing to commit to this conventional 50s era hotrod look but I've really been happy with the choice.

Re: Very blue 66 project swap
Nice work on the truck! You nailed every aspect of the build perfectly. Do you have pics with the bed back on? I would like to see how you finished up your gas filler neck.
Re: Very blue 66 project swap
I appreciate your words Steve, sorry I'm still in the process of repainting the hood and the lower bed sides. I have not yet even made the access hole in the bed floor but as soon as I get to that point I will post up some good pictures.SteveCanup wrote:Nice work on the truck! Oh, Yeah, that hood and bed look like they need some work! I'm sure you will get them looking as good as the rest of the truck.

Re: Very blue 66 project swap
Nice! Are you going to replace the carpet now? And I can't wait to see it with the hood and bed on it too...that is one sharp truck. I followed your rear-end change out on Facebook and I am wanting to do the same. I was thinking 3.0 or 3.23 with my 3 speed and 292. Still doing research.

Re: Very blue 66 project swap
Thanks Steve, I'm actually thinking the gray carpet works ok with the white so it might stay. I've not yet got to put many miles on the 275 rear, just one trip down the road. I'm really looking forward to stretching it out some.SteveCanup wrote:Nice! Are you going to replace the carpet now? Re: Very blue 66 project swap
Could you tell me what the headers are? I've got a 66 that I'm putting a 351W with P40 heads in and I'm trying to come up with headers that will fit. I know I might have problems with the headers fitting the P40 heads, but I have to start somewhere. Thanks

Truck is looking great! Keep pressing on. It will be finished before you know it.

Re: Very blue 66 project swap
When this all started, I thought that was going to be way to much blue. But holy crap do I love this truck! The white in the interior....SWEET!!

Excellent job and well done. How did the gauge panel insert attach to the original metal? I assume you had to cut the original metal to accommodate the insert and gauges but how did the two pieces connect?
