a/c recomendations
I am going to start researching a/c systems to put in my 66 and looking for a vintage looking under dash system and need to know what is out there,if possible I would like a system that used R12 since I still have a bunch of it.

Re: a/c recomendations
I am not sure if anyone makes a new version of the old underdash units. I put a vintage air unit in a '54 and was really pleased with how it worked.
Re: a/c recomendations
I'm planning on a reproduction Mustang-style under dash unit tied into the 4.6 compressor & parts...

Try Lucky's Rod Shop Ennis, Texas. They are very reasonable and have some under dash units like what you are talking about. Thanks, Lyman.
Re: a/c recomendations
What about using one of the vintage units from a Mustang, Fairlane, ect? There are lots of them out there and you can usually find them fairly reasonable. Thats what I'm hoping to do.

Re: a/c recomendations
I like the Vintage air under dash unit and will look into it,I did find out the Summit has it for less then 300 but need to see if they have everything else. I would like to have a original Ford under dash system but the ones I seen at the swapmeets were priced too high for me when I can get the new one for the same money or a little more.
Re: a/c recomendations
I might have an extra FORD underdash unit from a Fairlane or Mustang.
Re: a/c recomendations
I had a Vintage Air complete system in my '66. Worked great, looked period correct and never had a problem with it. I hesitate to piece a system together, I think you will be better off in the long run buying a complete Vintage Air kit from mounting brackets to switches. A lot easier to install and diagnose a problem with a kit like these. It may be more upfront but may actually be cheaper in the end.

Might have a original Ford system from a 63 galaxie located and will have pictures when it warms up some,I will be checking into a complete Vintage air system before buying the original.

Check Lucky's for price before you buy.
