spindle question

Post by Ford4jack »

I was wondering what years front spindles from a 63 F100 and a 66 F100 will fit.
Just trying to tag things correctly as I put them away.

The '63 spindles should be the same from '57-64 (straight axle).
The 65 goes thru 72 for drum brakes (twin I-beams). After that, the spindle boss is the same up thru 79 but for disk brakes only.
They will not interchange as far as putting disk brakes on drum spindles.
Does that make sense???

I think 63 fits 61 thru 64 F-100, it may fit all the way back to 57 but I'm not sure of that.
The 66 F-100 will fit 65-72 F-100 & light F-150 with drum brakes only

FBp

BTW, be sure to label them right and left.
They are NOT identical, there is a right and left. I can look up the numbers if you need me to.

Thanks Y'all I appreciate the info

I was thinking that's how it went but was not positive. Now I can label them with confidence.
Figured I would mark them as driver & passenger side.
They might set around until the kids inherit them or something.

wrong, wrong Correct listing is 57-64, then 65-67, the 68-72 on spindles , You cannot have 68-72 in that field since the 68-72 takes wider brake drums all the way around......
