I've been working on my 57 for a while now and finally got it back up
on wheels again. Did the reverse eye thing on the front springs. It dropped
about 2 inches which won't look like much but I don't have the engine back
in it yet either. Don't expect it will go down more than a couple more inches
but we'll see. The front tires on it are real short 15s so the gap still looks
kind of big between the tire and fender, but it is half of what it was with the
old springs in place.

nice. that body style is one of the coolest that is finally starting to attract attention. i look on craigslist at least once a month for one for sale. the first one i looked at i was 22 and it was rusty. now i am 55 and lmc has parts.so i am looking again.
LMC parts for the fridges are awful. The sheetmetal panels (all of mine were Schott brand) are poor fits. The rubber is the same. Wasn't impressed by a single piece I got from them except the front bumper.
If you find a '57, make sure the grill and headlight parts are in great to perfect shape, none of it is reproduced and they go for serious money if you find a nice one. Another problem area is below the taillights but there is a guy making that panel now.

Was up at Sid's yesterday and helped him move
some stuff to his new shop. Going to be a lot nicer than
the 100 year old building he has been in for 11 years.
I am looking for the bottle cap innie hubcaps for the
F100s and F250s if you hit any of the swapmeets and
yard sales around there. TR

Doesn't matter to me if they are F100 or F250s. Both work great.
Paint is not an issue, but just looking for them in good shape
without rust holes and perforations. Let me know, Bill.
These are in pretty good shape, but not 100% perfect. They are good looking from about 5 feet away. Up close you can see some very tiny blemishes. They are powder coated argent and the lettering is laser-cut vinyl. It would probably be a good idea to clear coat them if you plan to use them on a daily driver.
