I've been slowly working on my '61 for some time. James turned me onto the ad for this truck. I think starting again with this truck will save me a ton of work. It needs the normal stuff (cab mounts) but its in better shape than my other project. Came with a good story as well. I bought it from the grandson of the original owner. He still had all of the original paperwork, hubcaps, keys, spare. He said he was driving it up till about 15 years ago. Then he parked it inside.
Can't believe Dean let somebody else buy a Merc uni.

Nice find, looking forward to updates!
Ha ha... That's funny!
I'm going to start a project thread pretty quick here because I think the fellow who sold it to me may like to keep track of "old Paul" as the truck was known.
I should get a chance to play with it a bit next week. Maybe go for a drive.
Those mirrors come up from time to time, I have the shorter version for my truck and my son has a set I made shorter uprights for. they also made a set that has a foot that screws down on the door roll. I may have some spare parts to those when I finish mine, no mirror heads though.
It is however in grand shape and looks a great project.

Thanks, for all the comments. I picked the truck up from Peace River. The shot in front of the dealership is the same dealer that sold the truck originally.
