Greetings All,
For the past several years the Simeone Museum has been invited to display a few cars at the Philadelphia Auto Show. So, since 2016 is the 50th anniversary of the Ford GT40's sweeping of the 24 Hours of Le Mans we displayed a few of our classic Ford racers…
Now, I just hope that the "new" Ford GT's do better at Le Mans this year than they did at Daytona last week.
Cheers,
P.S. Go Broncos!

What is the #4 car? I don't recall seeing that one before. Sweet line up.

Re: Philadelphia Auto Show
Number 4 is a 1967 Ford MK IV. This car competed at the 1967 Le Mans. Four of these streamlined, highly sophisticated prototypes were entered at Le Mans in 1967, and one of them went on to an easy victory. After winning Le Mans in 1966 and 1967, Ford Motor Company withdrew from international racing.
Re: Philadelphia Auto Show
I remember Ford winning Le Mans in those years. Didn't remember that 1967 had a different car. Very cool.

Re: Philadelphia Auto Show
That is one lovely bunch of beautiful cars Bill!
Seems to me the Mark VIIs had some kind of rear
spoiler or something on the back of them that I
have seen. That one does not. TR

Hey TR,
You got me on that one. I'm not aware of any wings, or such, on any of the 1967 MK IV's. Here is a link to photos of a few of them…

Also, the only Mark VII's that I know of are 1963/64 Lincoln Continentals. Are we talking about the same cars?
