Can someone who has an assembled flareside step post a photo of theirs?
Here is mine. I have to do some fabricating....
It was full of bondo when I got it (hiding this giant rust hole).
I want to be able to fill this open area. Not sure how I'm going to yet.
Thanks.

Re: Close up of flareside step
I don't have a read close up picture but I think you can see the polished stainless strip right above the running board on the bottom of the rear fender. I didn't have a rust problem but the rear fenders was off a mid 70's pick up and didn't go down far enough to mate up with the running board properly. I cut two pieces of stainless and rounded the other edge and made an extension, that solved the problem. You might try this approach to your problem. The extra bling set the truck off quite well.

Re: Close up of flareside step
Unless someone gets to it before I do I'll get a picture of my flareside step after work today. Kinda rusty I hope I don't have a bigger hole there than you do but I'll check.

That running board step should be out flush with the bed side. Pulling it out to there should fill most, if not ALL of that gap.

Re: Close up of flareside step
That's what I ended up figuring out. I cut a notch in the newly installed bed side extensions. Pulled the step up closer. I still had to tinker with it. Had to fill the old hardware holes and drill new ones.
