OK, this made me laugh - literally.
I'm not a purist by any means. I've been a GM guy all my life.

Most of my family has worked for GM and drive GM products. Check the user name and then do the math - lol!! Oddly enough, I used my retirement bonus to buy a used truck - a 98 Ford F150. I love that truck! - even though it's the "not so loved" 1998 body style. I recently picked up a 65 slick and even more recently acquired a 2003 Crown Vic. My buddy asked me if I was OK - haha. I completely understand the whole "brand loyalty" - I really do. I've been so anti-ford my whole life that it surprises me, more than anybody, that I have 3 Fords in the driveway. But I love em and I'm glad I "violated" the loyalty rules - lol.
Personally, if someone wants to slap an LS in an F100 or an EcoBoost in an old c-10 I say more power to em. Who am I to say what
they do with
their vehicles. And to get angry with them about it or to shun them because of it? - well that just borders on ridiculous. I just enjoy trucks - old trucks. Don't get me wrong, I admire and respect a well executed restoration as much as the next guy. I love to see old steel brought back to OE standards. It's a beautiful thing. But I also respect the time, energy, money and imagination that goes into any old vehicle that gets new life breathed into it - regardless of what brand of parts they use. But that's just me.
I enjoy the banter and the ribbing that goes along with the whole "brand loyalty" thing. It's fun. But now that I own both Ford and Chevy, now I can talk smack no matter who's in the room - lol. And trust me - I'm gonna use that acronym on my GM buddies - lol.
