They are suppose to be more snug than that
I had one on an engine that was sloppy like that
I think I put some paper shim in to tighten it up
Definitly wouldn't be good for a high performance engine
But probably be good enough for a runner

I wouldn't expect any practical difference. Centrifugal force will keep the rotor "tight", maybe not so much on deceleration, but who cares about a minute additional advance when decelerating? The system will still fire at the exact same point based on timing. Paul

Thanks for the info guys, getting old and forgetting stuff, well just part of life I guess. I tried six other rotors that I have and all were the same. Not having any sort of problem with the way it runs. Just don't like loose things The main thing I was concerned about was the rotor being forced up and hitting the terminals in the cap.
