Post by aj64f100390-292 »

Hey, Ive been watching the gauge for a while, Ive bent the arm a time or two thinking it was hitting something but now I know its way off when it reads bone dry and I put 12 gallons or so in and it fills it to the brim..is the float defective? Dousnt sound like it has gas in it...drives me nuts kniwing I spent 50 bucks and didnt get anywhere... reads accurate out of the tank...
Thanks in advance

If your temperature gauge works then the problem is probably not the 12 to 6 volt regulator. If not try running a direct 12 volt wire to the ignition side of the instrument cluster regulator. If it works then trace your power sorce. You can also ground the sender wire out and see if your gas gauge pegs past full.

I bought one from DC and the arm was way shorter than the original and that could cause what you are experiencing.

Mine is a few years old and made of metal. I did not know they sold out to plastic. The arm on the one I have was the same as the one I pulled out.
