I didn’t do it!

I opened the panel today to fin a place I can run so,e wore to my air compressor. I haven’t done it yet, but saw that and was like WTFO!

Pre ious owner was a nice enough guy but sort of a village idiot.

That damage is on the non feed end of ONE buss bar. I would have NO problem whatsoever using that panel, IF that is the only damage.

Make a note to your self not to use the top two breaker slots in your panel. And you still have a lots of open slots for breakers...

Top has some arcing marks .... I’m no certified electrician....

That is assuming that all that blue electrical tape is for identification of wires, not to cover up degraded, brittle falling off, insulation on the wiring itself... it's hard to tell without checking the box in person.


I've seen much worse, inspect, research, then repair only what you need to. It is the joys of home ownership, don't ask me how I have learned that.... :roll:

April that does remind me of a 1972 we brought in and every wire in the truck was RED,, What a mess trying to sort out

I was also concerned with the blue tape. has the insulation been melted from an overload?

if you look closely at the blue tape you will see a black wire taped and a red wire comes out the other end

I think the blue tape was put on there as a marker

Blue tape is s posed to be good for keeping smoke in... isn't it ? :shock:

Lol right! I still need to purchase materials for the electric portion of my compressor,

Oh and I may get some copper pipe and do a nice air drop set up around... making a few drain points.
