$400 for tires, wheels, front & rear 3/4 ton chebby axles
Also $400 for the chebby "jasper built" 4spd trans & transfer case
The tires were brand new (less than 300 miles)
I looked up the price of them... almost $180 apiece new...
So I went & looked at them .. the guy needed money
Talked & talked... I said I had cash.. "bottom dollar for all today ?"
When he said $300 bucks ... I said load em up
I figure the tires will be free after I sell the drive train stuff
So anyway ...
I remembered a project I kinda started on about 5 years ago
A uni longbed that I put 4x4 axles under...
Yep ... those tires were perfect for it ...
And that 300 i6 with the short tailshaft c6 would sure be a good engine
There's a transfercase or 2 sitting aRound here
Got it back in the shop yesterday ... jim helped with the skid steer
He said ... "there is something wrong with you "
"There is 3 Slicks in the shop... 2 sitting in the drive
2 out in the shed ... and at least a half dozen junkers !"
......
I told him there was not a half dozen ... theres 8
.......
They just don't understand
........
I didn't tell him about the one we have to pull home .
