1961 f100 vs f250?

Post by 624WD »

What are the differences between the 61 f100 suspension and frame versus the 61 f250 suspension and frame?

Typically, the 3/4T will have slightly different height/width/material thickness on the frame, heavier springs ....but surprisingly, the front axle itself is the same, BUT everything outboard of the kingpin is heavier.....

Curious what it is you're trying to determine?

Was thinking about a snowplow for the 62 f100 4wd. Other than that, I don’t expect any other heavy duty use. Was wondering if I should add to the suspension? Such as additional leaf or if the 3/4 ton springs would fit on the f100 frame.

I would hang the plow on there & measure how much it lowers it
If it's more than you desire
An additional leaf or 2 should stiffen it up enough to be suitable
