Hey everyone,
I tried searching and saw a few posts, talking about the 65 gas pedal and the 66 pedal.
I'd like to swap out my hinged pedal assembly for the 66 assembly.
Other than the pedal mount being different(floor vs suspended), does the remainder of the assembly bolt in the same place, cable through the firewall at the same place, cable connection the same?
If its a direct bolt in replacement, I need a complete assembly with the rubber pedal if anyone has one for sale.
Thank you,
Bradshaw

No first hand knowledge but in photos it looks to bolt to the firewall the same way. I would think you could weld a newer pedal and part of the metal bar onto yours if you want to get away from the pedal mounted to the floor. Any bump, dent or even newer truck could be a doner.

Re: 65 to 66 Accelerator Pedal
Thanks for the suggestion, that's a good alternative.

It is a direct bolt in. The pedal I have now might be the one I pulled from a 73 Ranchero.

Thanks, I will check the local yards for a donor.

Re: 65 to 66 Accelerator Pedal
late 65 and 66 trucks has the hang down pedal,, on 65 trucks and installing the 66 pedal you need the complete assembly which means the inside pedal assembly with the firewall bracket that mount on the outside on the firewall and both will use the same cable and same mounting bracket for cable on the intake just check to be sure your cab has 2 holes which would be offset from each other that is 5/16 hole since those 2 bolts screw into the hang down pedal inside the cab

This little video will help clear up some things if your truck was made in Missouri. May not be the case in all plants but it sheds some light on books vs hands on applications.9Fingers wrote:Hey everyone,

Thanks Tom for the information and Chris for the video.
Hopefully, the yard 10 minutes away will have what I need.
