Farming with old equipment

Post by slick4x4 »

I have been spraying the last week
The weather has been cooperating (very little wind)
I built this sprayer in 2008 , out of a gleaner combine
I designed & fabricated every piece of the modification
I can get over 30 acres an hour
And it saves me about $5 an acre , instead of hiring it done
On smooth level ground it’s nice to ride in ….
Yesterday I was going over bumpy terraced ground :(
It quit running on my last patch of ground
The fuel filter looked terrible & I couldn’t hardly blow thru it
So went to town for lunch & bought a new filter
…ran for about 3 seconds & quit :cussing:
Electric fuel pump
Town again (only 5 miles from this field… not a big deal)
Ran perfect !!
Now I can get some other work done
Probably should find a Slick around here to drive to SLICKSTOCK

enginuity (I think that's how it's spelled) is a great thing and you definitely have lots of it Pat. That's pretty slick outfit.
