Interested young guy

Post by slick4x4 »

Phone rang this morning
Guy said “I heard you had some 60s parts trucks”
Yep … he said “we need some brake parts “
Came over ,guy probably about 40
The 15 year old son (his truck) and 4 year old daughter
We went in the shed where I keep boxes of stuff
Found a few things he needed
Then out to the truck yard & he climbed under a truck
Came back with a bunch of parking brake stuff
He said “how much do we owe?”
…. Nothing
“Are you sure ?”
Yep… a 15 year old can spend his money on other things
Then he was eyeballing the rusty chrome rims with baby moons
Told him they would shine up with some work
I said he can come get them for free when he can drive over in his truck
Told him about SlickStock being in Salina
I bet they will show up
Good to see young blood take an interest

That's an awesome story! That young man doesn't know exactly how fortunate he is to have met you. What a great way to show a newbie how community works. Hopefully you've gained a helper too :D

And here we all thought you were this grumpy old curmudgeon... :rotflmao:

Seriously though... it's yet another demonstration of the guy we all know you are. Well done! Hope he shows up. We could use some new blood around here.
