retired!

Post by shipwrecked »

Somehow i survived the 25 years of service. it's over. I hopped on a plane the other day in Honolulu and flew back to VA and started my terminal leave. I am on leave until end of July then I will be unemployed on a fixed income. I have no solid plans. Maybe go to school. maybe apply for a GS job in our CG IT side, or at engineering side. I have a project management background a Contracting Officers Representative certification so I can get snatched up quick if i apply.

Shoulder surgery may happen in next few weeks too. I hurt it many years ago and then again a while back. It's at a point i cant lift my arm above my head- so while still have active duty medical, I want them to fix it.

Putting the batteries of the jeep and Shipwrecked on charge. Time to get them running again. Been sitting for a long time.
The months may change, but I am always APRIL

Congratulations April, long time coming, I can still remember what it was like getting out after 2 years I can't fathom what that would feel like at 25 years. Thank you for your service. Wish all the best for you in the future.

well- randomly i have slept in for the last few days. Somehow the dogs have let me do that.
I also ran into a friend of mine down the block. Said i was "amped up" which is true when i come back from deployments. There is always something to do when you were out there, and now i am home i feel like i need to do something but can't figure out what.

I am building from scratch.
I am going to build my own trailer frame, install axle and then build the camper on top. Way cheaper than paying a off the shelf camper. Plus I can customize it my way.

Check out OregonTrailR on youtube. He makes some nice teardrops- i am making one similar but not at his cost.

Building from scratch is a big undertaking
Might scour the marketplace or Craigslist
Seems like there are a LOT of cheap camper traileeess
Around that need work
