Alternator connections?

Post by dotcentral »

I think this has the connections in the right places, but can someone confirm this for me please?

I still have the little metal clamp the holds the wires in place. I think it goes over the ground wire, right?

I also ripped the boot for the big plug, guess I'll have to try RTV on it because I've never found new boots for these. Does anyone have a source for them?

I had to post at a NC truck site, I can't upload photos on this site at home with AOL.

looks right to me.
only way you can mess up is get the field and the white w blk stripe reversed and since you have a harness that looks in good shape i can tell from the color.
not sure where you can get those alt boots, i take them off junkers and also have used the coil end boot off a spark plug wire before.

Thanks for the fast reply Iceman.

Good idea for the alternator boots. I've got at least one old set of sparkplug boots laying around so I'll give it a try.
