My '65 CC had no dash pad originally, but had the chrome strips. Until I bought this truck from it's original owner, I had always thought that if there were chrome strips on the dash, someone had just removed the pad at some point.
However, the guy I bought it from said it came that way when he ordered it. I learnt sumthin' new that day!

Here's a shot the day I dragged it home.

Wow, it sure did!!
So Just Dashes makes those brand new, not fixing old ones? I think that's the route I'm going with for sure. :thumright:

That dash is beautiful 64Ranger. I am thinking about them, Just Dashes, but am going to check the place in WA first. I wonder how many color options they have. It would be nice to color match my exterior paint if I could.

I actually sent in one of my stock interior door panels and they color matched the stain and sent the panel and a quart of stain back to me and I sprayed it myself. They did a wonderful job of color matching.

Hey guys, just a short follow up. After diligent rearch, I decided to get one from Just Dashes. It was a little more expensive than I had budgeted for but I think it will be worth it. I found out they custom make them when you order them so it takes about 6 weeks for delivery. I will keep my fingers crossed as to the quality. After 5 years and hours of work, I kind of want something that looks good.
Thanks for all the input, a usual, this is a good place for information and help.

FarmTrk, how about a follow up on your dash pad?

Sorry for digging up an old post guys, but I'm curious about this one.

I colored mine red to match my seats and door panel inserts. The quality is top notch and they come complete with the defrost vents formed in them. They also cut out the speaker hole for me with a template I provided. I was very happy with the quality and the fit.

I was about to post that the 64's didn't have the padded dash, but you proved me wrong. Maybe it was an option on the Custom Cabs. I've haven't seen one on any of the resto sites, but you know how it is with the 'RHSC" (that's Red Header Step Child for all you non-64 owners), although I think the 65 dash is the same.

yeah 64 trucks had the padded dash option for custom cabs. I have a few original ad's that feature them. plus dougs truck is one of the rare 64 ranger package trucks.

Did not make a difference on size of truck either since my F-350 came with dash pad + dual arm rests, padded sunvisors, spotlight roof lights + any of these options could be on any size truck so not just limited to pickups

Sorry for the lack of any updates, but I haven't made much progress. I did buy a dash pad from Just Dashes in California for about $650. I am in the process of painting the lowwer portionof my dash and thought that when I got that done I would install the pad. That coupled with some travelling has resulted in a slow pace. I will let you all know when I get it on and also provide some pics.

What's the contact info for Just Dashes? About a year ago I sent them several emails and I have never gotten a response.
