Engine Swap - 85 Town Car to 64 Slick
I have located a 1985 Lincoln Town Car with less than 20,000 miles for the engine (5.0) and transmission. Is this a good candidate for replacing my 223 in my 64 F100. Any problems or pitfalls? Whole car is only $450 so seems like a good deal (especially with the low miles). Seems like I read somewhere that the Lincolns were somehow different than the Ford Engines? If you'll recall my goal is to have a smooth running, fairly strong, engine which can hang an a/c compressor, ps pump and alternator.

I would get the entire car so I can get whatever I need. Probably would convert to a carb rather than the efi. Is that doable? Known problems?

There's no difference between a Lincoln 5.0 and a Ford 5.0. There are differences between the HO and non-HO motors though. Primarily heads, cam, and firing order. The Lincoln will have a non-HO. Around 150 hp, but plenty of low-end torque. Somewhere around 265 ft-lb @ 2000 rpm, if I remember correctly.
