aargh- oil leak

well just after i got the generator working again my 66 4x4 decides it wants to pi$$ oil on the ground now. think its most likely the rear main.it was repaired roughly 8K miles ago by a friend who has a repair shop.he told me he would warranty it but i dont know how long for. its a 292, runs good otherwse but does use some oil . too cold right now to tear into it. engine came with the 2wd truck when i bought it so i used it on the 4x4 frame when i did the cab replacement.
if i change the engine next summer i would likely put a 300 6 in if i could find the 4x4 bell for it. i have 2 FEs already so not really looking to do one in the 66.
