The place to talk Slicks. All we ask is that discussion has something to do with slicks...

Thanks to all for the encouragement and support.

Wouldn't you know it, I've already found another. The paint is rougher, but the body is straighter. It's about a mile up the road from my Dad's house. The guy selling it put it up on Saturday. Pop went to school with the guy's wife. Same year, '65 - auto, 6cyl, Short Style-side bed. No rust. ONE OWNER. Painted bumpers w/o a "scratch" - just patina'd like we like 'em. . .

I can just swap the plates if I feel lazy. . .

Things are looking up fast!

Congrats on the good luck, Some times there is a silver lining. Now you have a ride to chase parts to fix your other truck.

Thats kind of a rare one with a 6 cyl. auto trans. combo. Its probably a Custom Cab. That will be a neat one to fix up, post some pics when you can.

Really? What might be more rare is the fact that it isn't a custom cab at all, but it does have the original philco (right?) AM radio . . .

Auto tranny in any Slick is pretty rare. I have been a fan/owner of these trucks for 13 years and seen well over a hundred of them up close and in person.
I have only seen 1 factory automatic truck.

65-66 is more likely to have an auto trans, but 61-64 are really rare with AT.

radios have nothing to do with the truck being cc or not.
