Hello everyone. I thought I would post a update to this project. I just got the truck back from all the body work. I also got the exhaust installed... I wasn't sure if I should, but I went ahead and got the exhaust dump outs installed... I don't have pictures of the exhaust yet but will soon. Checkout my website for all the updates...

slixtyfive wrote:I'm just curious - did you trial-fit the cab over that transmission?? Are there any clearance issues??

Also, just curious about availability/pricing of that transmission and a rebuild for one. You mention it took awhile to find a suitable trans - what were the issues?

Thanks!

My experience has been that in a project like this, you do not tolerate "issues". You do the same thing the factory does and engineer it to fit. Just like building a racecar, any problems are resolved through fabrication. I've done a lot of this in my life and my66longbed is building a truck that I would be proud to say I built.

Out of money is a PROBLEM.
out of motivation is a bigger problem.
hope your problems never get bigger than money.
It's a race.. Will hell freeze over or will JC finish his truck first. Stay tuned..

I wanna know more about the 442 build... I've been drooling at the proposition of doing the mod on my 390 but have never come across anybody that has. What can you tell me?
'63 with 390 & lots of juice. But never enough. Always want more.
