65 F-100 Military truck

Post by willy12844 »

I have a 65 F-100, short bed, step side. Did the spare tire mount to the bed up side wall just behind the cab? I like it and have received many complaments about it. This truck started it's life out on the Rock Island Arsenal and served it's country well until the early 70's. Can someone tell me what the tire size was on this parpicular truck.
Happy New Year to all, and safe and fun truck'n
I have a 1965 short bed step side F-100. It has a 302 V8 in it.

the spare tire is mounted on the outer bedside if you have the fender with the bite [divit] in it.
otherwise it would be under the rear of the bed.
64-66 stylesides have a bracket for mounting inside the bed behind the cab
the fridge beds and unis have a slightly different bracket to mount in the same place.
to my knowledge there were no factory brackets for the tire inside the stepside.

Thanks for the 411 that's what I thought, I just wasn't sure. Do you have any 411 on the 2nd question about the tire size?
