Toploader Transmission Mount

Post by biggus »

Does anyone have a toploader in their slick? What transmission mount do you use for a toploader?
The mount from the old 3 spd will not work. The toploader has a different
hole mounting pattern than the 3 spd. If I use the standard toploader
transmission mount, I will have to drill a few holes in the crossmember.
What is the best way?

I don't have an answer, but is that the 3 speed with overdrive? What is it going behind?

guess I'll try to help,
I put the Ford 4 speed top loader in my 66, changing out the 3 speed and yes all you I had to do is re-drill the bolt holes in the frame to mount the re-support, or at least it worked for me, along with having the drive shaft shortened.
my transmission came out of a 67 torino and with the exception of shift brackets / being on the side and not the top like yours it looks the same?
