Mounting Mirrors

Anybody got the formula for mounting (location) this type mirrors? Rectangular, chrome, 3.5" X 5.5" . I know they have to clear the wing glass but not sure about the location on the door. Anybody using these, pics please.

Sorry I can´t help. My 65 came without any mirrors, but had holes in the door to mount any type you can think of. I welded them all up and went with the little round ones that go through the rubber grommet in the door. They look good but are about useless.

Yes I know. That's what I have now. I have to change them out. This is on my truck.

Jim, not sure how those will work because of the curve on the door. they are very common on the bumpsides but i have none of those to measure.

Have someone on the outside of the truck move them around for you so that you can get an idea for the best location for vent glass clearance and best visibility. Also, I would recommend using rivet nut fasteners as opposed to the just the door sheet metal or those cheesy plastic inserts.

I had a set of these on my company truck in 74 or 75. I think they will work on a Slick because the head can be rotated to any angle. I found a few pics of trucks with these but nothing up close for reference or to measure by.

Good idea. I have the rivit nut fasteners and screws for them.

yea. Sadly Ive come up with the same judgement. the drivers side is fine, but right side wont adjust in far enough to be useful. it looks off right. And it's so little...
But they look good... too bad they dont work as well as they look. damn they look good. Would be better though with a big chrome bullet nut on the front of the bracket...

Why you changing them out? Sell me your old ones if they're in good shape.

Why you changing them out? Sell me your old ones if they're in good shape.

I wont sell the round ones until I have the new ones installed. The round mirror on the right side wont adjust far enough to see anything.
