JC, my buddy just started making the foot pedals out of scrap diamond plate at his job. He paints them to match the vehicle, then sands them so that the diamonds are shinny and clear coats them. Comes out pretty nice, and uses double sided sticky tape to attach them to the gas pedal. No, I don't have one in my truck...

Daplumma, that's great. "Idle beds are the devil's playground"

Back to the main topic...

Worn out or weak leaf springs can cause axle hop too. It went away when I had my springs re-arched.

Garoovey man. Now if he just starts making curb feelers, he can be not only 40, but 50 years behind the times. How Hep.

*I still can remember that sound of lining up against a straight six at a light.

gene, Gene GENE GENE! !! (the sound of that mean single barrel carbed inline, through one whole inch diameter of massively restrictive muffler and pipe

GENE! GENE! bwahhhgghhhhhhhhhh clunck! The sound of the 89 staid horses falling asleep at once, and stalling out at at the light...

HAHAHAHAHAahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

(the sound of everyone who saw it, p!ssing their pants the whole rest of the night, whenever they saw him on the cruise route, slappers and all)
It's a race.. Will hell freeze over or will JC finish his truck first. Stay tuned..

You should see what the 429 does. No wheel hop at all.
Someday I'll get another slick :(

My '66 used to wheel hop almost every time, if I tried breaking them loose on dry pavement, going straight. Used to drive me nuts...I also became a master u-joint replacer after a while.
I finally determined it was probably due to worn out original springs & the bushings that go with them...planned on replacing them when I rebuild my truck.

If I started my burnout in a little bit of water, or dirt, or whatever, it would broil the hides just fine.
My "Slickitis" affliction began here...

If it starts to rain, they'll tax the splash.
If you want to fish, they'll tax the bass.
If you plant a yard, they'll tax the grass.
If you don't play nice, they'll fine your *$#!

I have slappers on mine and they work great just have to set them up so their real close to the spring and dont hang down all dorky like. the old truck actually pulled a wheel up a couple inches at the track last summer!
