JC, my buddy just started making the foot pedals out of scrap diamond plate at his job. He paints them to match the vehicle, then sands them so that the diamonds are shinny and clear coats them. Comes out pretty nice, and uses double sided sticky tape to attach them to the gas pedal. No, I don't have one in my truck...
Daplumma, that's great. "Idle beds are the devil's playground"
Back to the main topic...
Worn out or weak leaf springs can cause axle hop too. It went away when I had my springs re-arched.

My '66 used to wheel hop almost every time, if I tried breaking them loose on dry pavement, going straight. Used to drive me nuts...I also became a master u-joint replacer after a while.
I finally determined it was probably due to worn out original springs & the bushings that go with them...planned on replacing them when I rebuild my truck.
If I started my burnout in a little bit of water, or dirt, or whatever, it would broil the hides just fine.

If it starts to rain, they'll tax the splash.
If you want to fish, they'll tax the bass.
If you plant a yard, they'll tax the grass.
If you don't play nice, they'll fine your *$#!
