Doc, you are saying that they did not see (or look for)the scar from the first surgery?also an xray would have revealed the missing parts. have had lots of dogs spayed before and all of them you could plainly tell.

only been to one bad vet in all my years of dealing with dogs.

people doctors i stay away from unless absolutely necessary.

I avoid them. I figure dying from something they might find is less likely than dying from something they thought they found, then catching a disease in the hospital, or being misdiagnosed, and then croaking. All our best doctors milked the university system for all it was worth up here, then headed for the big cash down there. So we get the ones with a degree they paid 10 rupees for in a dark transaction behind a dumpster, somewhere in the old country.

In Canada, your family can't even sue the hospital or the doctor to get some cash after they kill you, either. Once you go to a doctor, it is somewhat like joining a cult or something. They keep you coming back and coming back and collecting more money every time you do. So, the idea is not really to get you well, but simply to keep you coming back forever. Hippocratic oath? I think that's misspelled. Should be Hippocritic.

Vets aint to smart for the most part. They are used to people coming in,and paying them to give a shot to BooBoo and charging a 100 bucks for it.They dont like the hard work.

A friend of mine has 4 cats. She has medical insurance on the cats!!!!
Heck, there are people that afford insurance on themselves much less a dang cat.

As far as me getting missdiagnosed,Took the idoits I was going to after my accident over a year to finally admit what I had been telling them all along that I had a closed head injury that caused brain damage.A 8 hour test confirmed left frontal, that is for cognitive and speach, and right rear section over and behind my ear, that is the area that controls balance.
This delay prompted theropy not to be as effective as it coulda been had I went sooner.I had allready learned new habits to compenstat for the problems and it was kinda like the old saying,"cant teach a old dog new tricks."

I once was at a DR office to get tests for allergies. I kept getting sinus infections ( mainly due to the high humidity in Dallas Tx. Compared to Growing up in colorado my system was not adapted properly) So I go in pay my 10 dollar co pay. Speak to a DR. she decided right off the bat I didnt need allergy tests that I needed a prescription for my sinus infection. so I go on my way get my prescription and by the end of the week I was worse than I started out to be. so I go back, pay yet another co pay, they say I need a different prescription. so I do this all over again. and got even sicker. I go back again pay another co pay and it gets worse. this continues until I ended up with Walking pneumonia. I had to take 4 days from work off. Complained to my insurance company, they just tell me they will look into it. never even got a call back so I changed to a different insurance company and found a Real DR.

as far as Vets go I like to find ones that have their own practice and arent affiliated with the big companies. My sister gave me this fella around X mas, he was a stray and was really malnourished, he could barely walk, his hind 1/4s were so weak he looked like he had German sheppard in him because of how he was squatted down. he could barely eat. cuts on his face etc etc etc. was about 4 4 1/2 months old. I buy him better quality food than I do myself. he was 31 lbs the second week of X mas at the Vets for his checkup and shots. took him back 3 months later for his neutering and rest of his shots he weighed in at 63. He now thinks he is in charge of the show. My vet was great gave me extra discounts because I took in a stray. Only thing I want for him now is a collar that goes off when he walks into a room that plays the Intro song to " the big show!
(A wrestling thing) WELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL ITS THE BIG SHOWWWWWWWWW!!!!
Here is Ben when I got him at X mas

Heath Care in Canada is not "Free" We pay thru the arse in taxes for the Jacarandas, both Doctors and hypochondriacs, who constantly abuse the system, see "cult" reference above. In Alberta, the richest province in Canada, we also get the pleasure of getting an "Alberta Health Care Bill" in the order of $1000.00 every six months or so. Then, every year the government can tell us we have a 6 billion dollar "Surplus" (which came out of our own pockets), so we can spend more on health care.
Last time I went to a clinic for a checkup, the waiting room looked like Custer's last stand, standing room only and full of Indians. Indians don't pay taxes. I turned around and left.
Anyone got a torpedo? maybe we can load all the politicians in a Greenpeace ship and blast the sucker. Not too close from shore, most of them float, 'cause their heads are made of wood.

...went to the ER on a friday morning after work. got sent home with just having a stomache bug. Two days later I was legally dead 15 minutes after going BACK to the hospital... Had/have a massive ulcer that had bled out for a couple days and I had literally bled to death.

Not a fan of docs. Havent been to one in 2 years aside from the occasional physical and piss test for work.

...and then there is the doctor(s) who saved my dad's life on the operating table after suffering a heart attack (quintuple bypass). My mother has chronic leukemia. If it wasn't for the treatments she has received she would no doubt be dead today.
