I've never seen or heard of anything like this. Supposedly designed and built especially to fit the long unibody bed.
It's not mine, but thought it was interesting and wanted to share with the group. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayI ... 0263159960

Kid: We have a couple of members in Southern Nevada. I'll have to check my memory bank and get their contact info or you may want to search the membership by location?

I see I wasn't the only member to check their Ebay on Sundays. I saw it and it is in my 'back yard". I even know the guy that has it listed, bought some 16" 5 hole rims from him a few years ago, real nice guy. And wounldn't you know, I just happen to have 2 longbed Unibodys hmmmmmmmmm. Have to talk to the wife and see if she likes the idea. I just don't care for all the extra wieght, wish it was made out of aluminum insted of steel, I'd probably have to put over loads even though their both F250's!! But on the upside it is one of the coolest accesorys I've ever seen for any Uni. I just don't know.

Michael: Duh, you're one of the members I was trying to think of. Had a bit of a brain fart there. I am a frequent e-bay checker. I've been know to get up in the middle of the night to check what's new. LOL. I just thought it was too cool. Agree with your comments about the weight. Hopefully the wife will say yes!.

Greg D: I didn't say pretty, I said COOL (as in unique/different). I wondered what it would look like on the truck, so ! I asked the seller for a photo of the top on the Uni but he didn't have one.

It's a shame that guy didn't get a shot of it on the truck.
Kinda cool. It would sure complete the "period correct" resto that some folks do.

oh, yeah and that thing is kinda cool in a horrible king of way... funny how it sticks up so far above the roof of the truck. you could build a fairing from the front edge of the cab to the front of the camper to improve aerodynamics... haha and it would be even uglier!

and STEEL! wow... yoou must have to be a real bear to get that on/off. my dad's fiberglass shell is heavy enough! haha

Well I showed the add to my wife and she wasn't all that thrilled with it. And to be honest I really am not to keen on it niether. Its going to need a lot of work, at least paintwise. And like I said earlier if it were aluminum insted of steel I would be a heck of a lot more interested for sure. My wife says I'd have to get some additional friends out to "lift" it onto one of the trucks. 4 men and a boy probably won't be enough.

Here's a thought to scar your brain. Imagine that on the back of a beautiful F-250 Big Window Uni. scared.gif :barf:
A man could get hung for something like that.
Hope someone does buy it though for a neat restoration.

Well I see it didn't sell, wonder what kind of reserve they were looking for out of this thing. Its going to take a certain person to want something like this, not myself though.

I pulled a 24 foot 5th wheel around the country for about 5 years with my 62, chasing aviation contracts. I was always home..lol
