Mine is a stupidly longwinded explanation/mixture of how I first got on the internet, a nickname I was given by friends, and a slight obsession with pigs.

So, pig obession = Ripsnorter. Seemed to fit.

~~~~~~ Edit ~~~~~~
Actually though, my favorite part of forum names has always been watching to see what other members shorten my name to. I infinitely prefer "Rip" to ripsnorter, since its a name you guys have almost universally given me whenever we're talking. I use a different name on half of my other forums, and I'm always curious to see how long it is before people shorten my name with that one. Its always a bit of a "welcome to the fold" type of thing when they do.
I made mine up back in '96 when I needed an name for a dialup account, just piecing letters together till I thought it looked good. Fast forward 8-9 years and I find out it's the archaic pronunciation for Moslem (now Muslim.) Now I'm not Muslim but I'm registered all over the place with this name so I guess I'm keeping it!
My screen name is something my mom calls my truck plus the year. She'll ask if we are coming over in the "POJ" so she'll be out on the porch to see my wife riding in it. She thinks its the funniest site. I have a picture somewhere she took of us going out the driveway from the back side, with all four of us in the '66. Its a great shot of me, my daughters in the middle and my wife on the end.
Speed racer was my favorite cartoon when I was a kid, and racerx was my favorite so I used that, but the first time I went to use it, it was already taken so I added the 1699 to it because that is my sons NHRA number
:shock: In late 80's I was hassled by a BB Blowtie Blow hard. :cussing: bang.gif :boxing: I had a few 460s. They ran very well. But I had a truck I used for long haul towing. It was an F-250 Trailer Spcl Supercab SWB with F-350 suspension & Power /Drive train.
It was a bear of a truck. shrug.gif
We hooked rear bumpers together with a nylon "Snatch Line" and went in different directions. It was unfair, rest assured. I let him pull me backwards a few feet with his BIG BUCK 454 Rat Motored 73 C-10 weighing 3300-3400 lbs. I stepped on my BIG Powerbrakes with my 7300 ULW F-250. I stopped us from moving he gunned it, broke his tires loose, I dragged his sorry ass backwards perhaps 20-25 feet in the dirt, gravel and dirt bouncing off my tailgate. We got to a concrete apron his slicks got a bite. His TH400 Bell Housing broke. His Big Buck Race engine & trans dropped. . . . Contest Over. :hm: :steering:
I trailered his sorry ass home & helped him push his Blowtie "hot rod" into his shop. A week or two later I ran across him in a local watering hole. "Hey Bruce. . . .How's that Hot Rod Chevrolet coming along, ready to try again soon?" He replied " AHww Bite Me Ford Boy! " and there it is. Too bad it wasn't original, he palgeurized it off some damn Bumper sticker he saw.
Oh well, he was a follower anyway. After he got it repaired he tried the 66 with the 460, but floated his valves when his lifters pumped up from running out of gears and still keeping his RPM too high. So I guess I bit him twice. The name Stuck.
I've had it for years now, going on 20 infact. . . . HMmmm
Damn.
I was going to tell you that my name springs from the fact that I'm kind of like your crazy uncle that lives under the stairs and the family won't let talk to respectable company when they come to visit.
I got it shortened by Bryce in Florida when he started calling me U-ASS (U.S.) or U@ss, from Jackie Gleason in The Toy.
I was going to tell you that, but I just can't top FordBoyPete's story.
ROTFLMAO
I'm not arguing with you. I'm just explaining why I'm right.
Pardon me. Does your deaug bite?
Well I tried quite a few times and finally got this one. I was born Johnny Canuck and it wouldn't let me do that for some reason. Then I tried my mob,er "family" name before I got in the witness protection plan. It was the iceman and I added 6166 to iceman in honor of these trucks. It wouldn't let me do that. While under the witness protection plan I have had a few names. One place it was pete but I tried fordboypete because thats what the locals called me driving my slick in that town in Montana they put me in. Nope wouldn't let me do it. Then I tried skip since that was my last name used in the witness protection progam. My niece came in the room that night and said "uncle skip" . I tried that and it didn't work. So I got the phone book out and put my finger down. It came up with a name of Willy and the last 4 digits of that phone number was 3486. So thats how I came up with that.
Well after I sold my 70Brougham (original screen name) I had TripleBlackTorino. 8 months later, Hardtopkiller. When we switched from N54 forums to PhPB3 forums I switched it while I was still feeling sorry for myself.
Mine came from a 36 Ford 1 1/2 ton truck I'm building. I started using it on the 460ford forum. Also use 72GTS on the Torino site because I also own 2 1972 Gran Torino Sports.
Most folkes will use my full screen name till they meet me face to face,then it winds up just being Ugly' :D
Actually the screen name came from the fact the day we went to the local Napa to get a gallon of paint for the cab interior and inside of the bed,the peice we toted in was kinda faded.So when they got done,the gallon can had "Pastel Blue" written in big letters and the folkes behind the counter were laughing at the name and all the way to the stinkin bank with my 125$!
But I just fiqure it aint manly to like "pastel" colors,and I do think the color is kinda ugly! So hince the name.
I have since replaced the left front fender and I used the paint code from the door.DUH,and it is much darker and looks better.Why we didnt use the paint code I will never know.I didnt even think of it when we was working on the truck.
But when I get the F350 in order to do the jobs I use the 66 for ,and i get powersteering on it,I will probably do some body work and paint it back it's original blue.
