what did you you seal this with? also let me know how you fix the holes behind the floor pans. We seem to be pretty much in the same boat. however you seem to be more motivated than me lol

Well, just a real bummer to look at those pics of your cab.

Have you decided to try and fix all that?

Depending on your willingness to travel, I'd think that a better cab can be found. Tom (JunkYardDog) might even have one. That's a lot of labor or time......

But you look to be capable of doing the work, so if that's what you are planning, then I'm sure you'll make it happen.

I thought I had rust till I say your pics there.... Bummer

Package for you racerx is in the mail today!

Thats the way to start body work, take it down to the bare steel. Check mrcando_66f100 photoalbum. It has pictures of the same kind of metal work your cab is going to need.

This will be the first time I've tried something like this. I've watched a lot of show's covering this, oh and I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night so I don't think it will be a problem. I have looked at a lot of other peoples projects here so that helps alot. I will post more pic's shortly with the new floor in.

My F-100 cab looks the same, along with all the missing metal at the bottom of the doors and bed. I found a better body and am starting over. only bad spot is drivers floorboard.

Racer, I feel your pain. When I got my cab off and blasted I had some rust through areas too. Mine weren't quite as bad as what you have there and with a little work got them patched up. Here is a link to some pictures I posted awhile ago. I hate to admit but I've been working on this 66 on and off for over ten years. Sometimes other things get in the way.

Wow great job so far. I love the frame and im considering having mine powder coated too. If you dont mind me asking how much was the disc brake conversion and where can I get it? Also, are you putting disc brakes on the back as well? I would like to put disc brakes on mine but have no idea what to look for. Any help is greatly appreciated. Im sure ill have alot more questions the farther along I get on mine.

Your chassis and engine are show pieces! That will be one sweet truck when you are done with it.

I'm gong to have to consider the braided brake lines. I'm not that good at bending steel ones.

tschmitt, here is a link to the disc brakes I put on my truck. There are other ways to do it, you could get everything you need off a 70's F100 or f150 if you want to keep it all Ford. I went this way ONLY because it was easier for me.

Gary, I went with the steel braided lines for two reasonds, 1 I like the looks and 2 it was very easy.

I'll have more pictures soon, we put the motor and trans in the frame last weekend. I'm saving the hard part (body work) for last. I know that's probably not the right direction to go but I like the mechanical work better.

I think the truck looks real good. Floor pans are easy to replace and the rest of the cab looks pretty good. Just take your time, do your research and it will turn out better than you expect.
The truck in my signature was way worse than yours and see how it turned out. Had to get a doner truck and do some heavy duty sectioning but it all came out good.

Look at the pictures and you will see what we went through. I really enjoyed it tho.

Here are some update pictures. I installed the motor and transmission. It's a 302 from a 94 mustang (my boy's and I completely rebuilt it) with C4 trans. I figure the motors has around 400 HP and we rebuilt the trans with a B&M street/strip kit and a 2800 stall TCI converter. I used Hooker Super Comp headers for a 69 F100 302, I think they fit great with plenty of clearance. I have good floor board panels coming from Bill W, had him cout them out of a cab he's parting out. It has been 1 year sense I started this project, I'm thinking about another year and a half to complete. I plan on having it ready to drive to SS10.

yep, nice work so far! I like that floor but it wouldn't last a week in my garage.
