question about 59 truck

might have an chance to pick up a 1959 f100 4x4
is this the first year ford made 4x4 from factory?
how rare are these? production numbers?
guys refer to them as 'fridge'
is there a site that i can go to find out some info?

looks like he is kinda letting it go to seed, but that's it, outside of Eff Tee EE for Fridges. And, Tim owns a '59 4x4.

being a kansan, from out in the sticks, i probably wouldnt have got it anyway
dad had a 59 when i was a kid, had it all polished up one day
that night a tornado took our barn and slammed into that truck

Iceman, as you know, is always watching out for a good deal on a 4x4 Slick.
One time, on eBay, he found a truck in Butte, Montana, that was a '65 4x4 F100. It was advertised by a woman who said
"It don't go very fast, but it can climb the face of a cow!"

We been laughing about it ever since, in fact, he said that to me as we were looking at YOUR truck at SS

How about this for a rare one? Don't know the year, because the front end's off, but it seems to be a factory 4x4. This is a local truck & I hope to catch the guy out working on it one day, so I can find out it's story.

Hey Pat! I get on the "Fridge " site occasionally to check up on this and that. Not much activity over there, but it is still going. A 59 Factory 4x4 would be a cool find. I have a long bed 56 I would like to build into a 4x4, with a late model chassis that has a good drivetrain and suspension that I could put it on. I also have a 58 panel truck I want to get on the road. At least I can sleep in it when I get tired.
