sweet!! what will you be using to get it closer to the ground ? i-beams or whole front clip? i love how low these slicks look, even with only mild lowering they look alot lower than the bumps do, i think the wheel wells are lower in the body lines.

Hub question

Post by cosmo »

Forgive me if this has already been asked, but did you have to mill the front hubs down to fit the 3 1/4" center hole?
Ive been talking to the folks at Radir a couple itimes now and they said thats what I'll have to do.
What size wheel did you purchace. I was thinking of 15X6 (because it is close to the slock dimensions, but the guy at Radir suggests 15X7.
In addition, my net connection at work blocks the pictures....so I cant see how good your truck looks yet!

im still in the calculating stage on my lowering, the problem i am having is the back, right now i have to lift the truck up from the suspension the get the tires into the wheel wells, am concerned about lowering it 4" if i will have enough spring travel to change tires, i plan on using the AIM drop spindles on the front and flipping the axle on the rear..

cosmo,
i did turn down the front hubs, overall was about 3/8 of an inch total removed, you have to turn down a little more to get the center caps to fit. i went with 15x7 4' backspacing on the front 15x 10 rear with 5" backspacing and 29x 12.5 hoosier street pros

i ended up putting a 1/2 spacer on the back, it was a little close to the inside fender 4.5 backspacing would have been perfect, ..

Thanks dwbr!

I'm planning on using the same size wheels all around, so I'll probably go with 15X7 on both front and rear so I can rotate tires.
Do you think your front 15X7 with the 4" offtest would have any clearance issues if mounted on the rear?
Thanks for the tips....

dwbr,

if your concerned with the back you should talk to johnny that posted earlyer in this thread, he's real low with a mustang2 frontend, not sure what he did in the rear but its low. if there is issues getting the wheels off he should know. :D
