my truck used to lose prime and id have to blow in the fuel tank to prime it. finally took the tank out and sloshed a chain in it. i run a big metal inline filter under the cab between where the fuel line comes out the bottom and the frame rail. I run another up by the carb, buit it is a clear glass thing mostly so i can see fuel, and what the fuel pump is doing. I would run at least a big metal filter under there and a clear one up top. fuel pumps dont like trash and holleys dont either.

the pinch/ kink way to siphon gas works well. even easier way... i take the fueline off my boat, along with the bulb you squeeze to get the gas from the tank to the boat motor. stick one end in the tank your siphoning the other in the tank you want to fill and start squeezing. if you dont happen to have a boat, i dont imagine it would cost much to buy the bulb and hose is cheap. nice to have around. when i was in h.school had no gas money, i would park next to mom or dads rig. and fill up.

Thats a good idea cruizin...never thought about that.

Well I got it going again. Blew into the tank cleared whatever the problem was but changed the fuel pump, filter and going to another filter between the pump and tank when I get back home again. I used a hand pump and put that on the line and sucked and finally the gas came out. May have had something in the line or sitting for awhile on a slope and low gas the fuel was not being sucked properly..took a long ride in it and rode great.,..actually now the idle was a little high so must be getting more fuel than before...

so now on to the other little issues i need to tend to...thanks for everything though ford people. I learned more so thats always a plus...
