Her we have Rose's 3 Parakeets: Zoe (Zoey) the 9 month old Black Lab destruction crew: Jasmine, my 5 year old Platinum Mink Tonkinese cat. http://www.tonkinesebreedassociation.or ... umMink.htm The one in the lower right hand corner looks near exact to Jasmine.

Nice cat Greg. Never heard of that breed before.
Do they have the same tempermant as a Saimese?

We had a Siamese a few yrs ago that was possesed and they are known to be fearless.

Two big heaters to keep it 78-80 degrees in the tank, and a good UVB floresant bulb.
When we rescued the Russian she was not seen very much either. She still isn't as active as the Hermanns, but is out most of the time. :D Too bad your not closer, we could breed them. Yours looks like a male with that curved plastron.

I hope he's a male, since we named him Cecil (after that cartoon turtle).

Honestly, I have no idea what he is. He was given to us about 4 years ago from a neighbor who was moving & didn't want to take him with. I came home & it was "look Daddy, we have a turtle!"
Swell.

I looked around a bit at first, but he's similar to quite a few others. He's some sort of hinge back flavor (the back of his shell can clamp down pretty tight) & I'm guessing a desert variety, because he doesn't like to swim much at all.
He's about 9" long.

This is the only other pic I've got at the moment, maybe you can tell?

If it starts to rain, they'll tax the splash.
If you want to fish, they'll tax the bass.
If you plant a yard, they'll tax the grass.
If you don't play nice, they'll fine your *$#!

We named ours Ivan and then learned that "he" is a "she". We still call her Ivan. :hm:

Yours looks like a Home's Hingeback. Here is a link to some info. They are known to be rather shy.

Yep, he sure does look like a Home's! And by comparing some of the pics, I'd say he's definitely male.

Thanks for that link, that's the most info I've seen yet on him. :thumright: It says that these turtles are hard to keep alive & are generally not very good pets. He's definitely shy, but he's still alive after 4 years or so, so I guess we're doing something right. :D We're just used to him being shy.
That link did give me a few more habitat ideas, though.

here i am in summer 97 with Taz, (has ball in mouth)our now 11 year old Newf-Lab and Rhiannon, a rescued dog probably about 5 at the time.she has been gone for a few years now but was a wonderful friendly dog , protective only if necessary.
Taz likes cats.one of our cats used to pluck up his fur and then lay down and sleep on that spot.

here is our list we have 1 inside cat going on 15 years called Junkie came from a junkyard in Greensboro & then of course :) Dakota that is a Jack Russell,,, Now Jack Russell's are not for everybody sometimes worse than 5 kids put together & that some of you have seen @ Slick Stock 2006 or @ the shows/swap meets or in our catalog on the prowl looking for trucks and last but least 10-15 outside cats that keep all small rodents & snakes away from our yard so we don't have to worry about opening a door & get a surprise they come & go so the numbers change but at feeding time its fun to watch or when we have left overs like a turkey its buffet time for them

ABA, "Princess" Jasmine does think she owns the place, lol. As long as you don't pick her up (you can only hold her if SHE jumps up on YOU) she is actually quite a nice, calm and quiet cat. She can leave some nice marks when she plays though, still has all her claws and plays "no holds barred"! The 80 lb Labrador knows the new pecking order that was instituted after the cat moved in too, maintains at least an 18 inch difference at all times, lol.

I here ya Greg. I've got some battle marks on my hands right now from rough housing with Tigger. He has all his claws too and they are like razors.
He's a cool cat though, sleeping on top of the PC desk as I'm typing this btw. 8)
I can always tell when I come home from work if he got in any trouble that day because he is very verbal when he does, like he is telling me all about how mean my wife was for yelling at him.

Oh and he wieghs in at 14lbs. :o
