Some updates on the 66...

Post by my66longbed »

Getting ready for summer. I got finally got my new wheels and tires on the truck. I am very happy with the over all look and stance. I have to admit these new wheels and tires changed the entire look of the truck. The new rubber really make the drive nice.

I also got a great deal on a brad new vintage air heater/defroster. I decided to run colored heater lines. I wanted to do stainless lines, but the cost of them vs. the colored was the main driver. I think it looks pretty good. I put the pics up on my site, here is a link:

Looks GREAT so that box under the dash is the AIR and HEATER all in ONE setup? I haven't seen a setup as such in one of these trucks yet, I'd like to see a setup closeup with pics and how to do it on mine!

Why you son of a ........ I was going to do that EXACT same thing with the old V8 symbol on my truck. ahahha well looks good. I was also thinking of putting the spears back on mine so I guess I will jsut put the spears on since I think both would be a little too much. Truck looks great though. Congrats

Looked like the V8 emblems from an Explorer. Wanted to do the same thing, remove the 66 emblems and just add the V8 emblem.

Alan -- Thanks!, the pulleys are from March Perf. http://www.marchperf.com/ . I really like them. top notch quality and very easy to keep clean...

Iceman -- I just wanted to say thank you to you... You have helped me get a lot of small parts here and there... Still need to finish the visors I recently just got from you.

jhewitt -- Yeah I will get some pics and part numbers for you. It does not do AC, just heat and air. Very small, easy install, and easily heats the entire cab.

I like how the V8 emblems came out. It was a gamble. It was something I thought would be a little different. They look good with the blue. I am debating now weather or not to do a silver pin strip down the length of the truck. Help break up the blue a little. I have a hard time picturing what it will look like...

Thanks for the feedback, you guys are always too kind. :-)

The spark plug wire organizers I picked up at my local Advance Automotive parts store. They were re-branded under Mr. Gasket, they were 49.95.
