'66 Ranger Tech Album

Post by banjopicker66 »

A year ago, while traveling through Independence, KS, I saw a nice '66 Ranger parked at a gas station. I stopped and chatted with the owner. He bought it new when he made his first cattle sale, and ordered it with all the options possible.
Two years ago, he had it re-painted and the upholstery re-done, but did not have it "restored." You can see a hole just above the door sill where the cab support has rotted through.
I took a lot of technical pictures of the options not often seen, to help me see how they were installed. These included the factory spotlight, brush guard, power brakes and (dealer installed) A/C.
I'll try to upload these pictures, but if I don't get them there, you can see them in my FTE gallery.
I only wish I could have photographed the build sheet, but it was gone.

Oh yes, the specs: "66 F-100, LWB, 352, PB, A/T (COM), A/C.

Where are the build sheets located on these trucks? I didn't know they had them.
I'm pretty sure it's missing on my 66, unless it's really well hidden...but my 65 was purchased from the original owner last year & it doesn't look like it's been messed with too much, so maybe it's still there.

If it starts to rain, they'll tax the splash.
If you want to fish, they'll tax the bass.
If you plant a yard, they'll tax the grass.
If you don't play nice, they'll fine your *$#!

Those are great pics, thanks!
Man, whoever installed that brush guard sure hadn't done many of those before, that radiator support took a beating. The truck looks good, it's beggin' for a restoration though.
