Cool looking tanker.. You said it was a 67? the door body lines look like a 66 then again I don't know what changed for the 67 model and I'm sure teh F1000 were different from the fX50 series. Good to see those pictures. :D

Big Trucks

I like the big trucks a lot, am glad someone is saving at least some of them.
If you have the time here are two more that could use some help.

Activated Org 64 what do you know about these trucks. The second one I might be interested in if the price is right.

Chris on the BIG trucks Ford kept the same body thru 1969 before they went to the bump style.

You probably remember this tandem axle Super Duty I've been keeping an eye on for a while.

I just found another one the other day, too. Gotta remember to take my camera with me soon, because I doubt it'll be there long.

Truck

Post by Activated Org 64 »

I like the first on as well, it would look good bright red with a new aluminum dump box. If I did that though I would have to go back to work to pay for it. Always a down side isn't there!!!

Larger front end sheet metal trucks ( F series)came in a wide variety of GVW and powerplants. Not all large front end trucks were Super Dutys. 61 thru 63 F 750's and F800's had 332 V8's. 64 thru 69 F800's had 361 and 391's. F 850 and higher series with the 401, 477, and 534 gas V8's were known as "Super Dutys".F 850 and higher series were also built with diesel engines. In 63, the V6 Cummins was offered. In 65, the smaller inline 6 Cummins and V6 detroit diesels were offered. In 67, Cat V8 diesels were offered. The Super Duty style continued up to 69, and replaced with the Louisville line in 70.

Alan by turrets do you mean roof? Yes the later trucks got the raised roof it the super duty series.
This is the first Surer Duty's Ford built not the pick ups of late.

Chris don't really need a crane.

Tom,
Nice find! What are your plans for the Tanker? Anything special?
I have always had a soft spot for those larger Fords but never had the space to keep them.
