Which Alternator????
Which Alternator????
I'm sure this has been asked before, but I can't find the answer here. I have a '66 with a 390. I want to install a alternator with the integral regulator. Is there a alternator that bolts up to the original brackets? If so what did it come in? What about the existing regulator wiring? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
On a quiet night you can hear a Chevy rust.

you can use a ford internally regulated alternator.

Here is the trick to convert an original over witout to many problems. The biggest advantage is removing the oem wiring and ext. reg. Cleans up the underside and looks stock!

That does look good, I like it. That's a much better alternative to me than putting a GM alternator on.

Hey Wayne thanks for showing me that AFTER I bored the holes bigger in my freshly painted inner fender for a new voltage regulator.
Now what am I gonna do to cover the holes...
...Hmmmm. Mark told me he got a "Shelby" ID tag down at the Shelby Factory..
That would keep 'em guessing
