Post by 6166 Junkyard Dog »

Now I would be shocked , but not terribly surprised on afterthought, if that happened in Canada. I would feel like Tom does, and wonder what that person was doing in my country if they were offended by me flying my Countries' flag there. But for this to happen in the States? and in Texas of all the States?

knock me down with a feather.

That's absolutely amazing that some one would even think that the FLAG is offensive living in our great country. Send them packing back to where they came from.

One by one, our freedoms are being taken.
freedom of speech... only if it doesn't hurt someone elses feelings...
freedom to arm yourself.... go ahead, but you won't able to buy amo.
public display of the 10 commandments.... not in a public building.

The US is heading toward socialism at the speed of stupid...

This is definitely not the norm for TEXAS !!!
Working for a NASA contractor and living close to "country folk" in the Alvin, Pearland, Manvel, Santa Fe area, we always respectfully display our flags, get goosebumps and tear up when we hear the National Anthem, send care packages to the soldiers and thank them abundantly for their service when we see them!!

Driving thru Milan Tn yesterday and noticed a beautiful display of American flags set up for memorial day.
It looked to be a grid of 50 flags set on a well maintained rolling church yard with the sun setting in the background thru thunderheads in the distance.
The air was crisp and clean from a cold front passing thru and there was a perfect breeze blowing that had the flags fluttering in waves

It was a very moving sight to behold and I wished I had a camera on me to capture the moment or the time to stop and watch the sunset from the sidewalk there.

Got home about 11 last night and saw this news article and it just burned me deep and hard.
Normally I would just mutter a couple of foul words but like I said it burned in me extra hard this time. grrsign.gif
