WELL SOAB!!!

I was looking at the paperwork (title) and the VIN on the title and the door are...

F10AKA99572

Now it doesn't take but a quick look at the truck to see it is an F-250 with a 352!

So I looked in the glove box and found a bunch of proof of insurance cards. The last one is to a guy here in town. And the VIN on it is...

F25YRA57470

So great that is the VIN (checked the frame) so I think this guy is the one that would eather have the Title or could get a copy. So I look at the title I have and it has been signed over to him AND OR his wife! Great! So I need to track down this guy or wife to get the title so I can get some tags.

Well I finaly find the number for the address and it is to his wife (same first name anyway) but the last name is differant! Great! They are probly devorced and now I am screwed!

But all hope is not lost yet. I still have not talked to her. I am hoping that all this stuff is still under her maden name or that she will be nice and try to help.

Yoyu guys have any sugjestions on a differant cource of action?

Pray for me...I am going to need it.

hey dan, since the truck is from in state why would you have any problems titling it with the f100 title? i know there is no inspection in kansas, or are you just wanting to get this straightened out?

I agree.
Plus, you're plannning on swapping F150 front brakes & rear end anyway...so after you've done that, it's gonna look like the title says it is. :)
If it were me, I'd probably leave the title thing alone & just register it as an F150. Nobody at the DMV is gonna give a rat's patoohee anyway.

cool. i would worry about a vindictive ex-wife trying to claim a stolen vehicle or something (at least that is the kind of luck i have). i would just title it and go from there.

I would title it with what the frame VIN says.
If you tell a future buyer about the 5 lug wheels and brakes, that is called an upgrade.
If you have tell a police or DMV officer, why it is titled with the wrong VIN, that is called fraud.
I would think you would give yourself a lot fewer legal headaches that way.
If you drove a Ford, you wouldn't need a good wrench!

That is my thought as well.

I talked to a KHP officer and he is going to work it to see what actions I should take to get it resolved.

I will keep you guys posted.

Well I got rid of the 351C and C4 that I got with the truck. I traided it for a good T-5 and SBF bell. I am going to get the rebuild kit from D and D and doo that soon.

Still waiting on the title work...

The 351C was in realy bad shape (very rusty and in no way complete, also 2v heads), I don't have a place for it or the time to sell it. I work with the guy and he has given me lots of stuff and helped me haul stuff before.

The T-5 is a World Class and it came out of a 93 mustang with a 5.0. But he put the harder gears from the 95 mustang in it. I talked to the guys at D and D (actualy D and L now) and they said that after I rebuilt it, it will handle 330ft/lbs of torque. I asked him what it would be worth after I was done and he said about $500. So I think it wasn't to bad of a trade.

I think I am going to realy like the T-5 behind my 300.

With 29" Tires and 3.70:1 Rear Gears...

Gear__Ratio___RPM__MPH
1_____3.35___3500___24
2_____1.99___3500___41
3_____1.33___3500___61
4_____1.00___2500___58
5_____0.68___1750___60
5_____0.68___2187___75

more to come...
