Not much to report at this time. Drove the truck yesterday to the Goodyear tire shop and had the front wheels balanced. They are the only ones in the area that offer to balance and will put the weights on the back. The truck drives and stops fantastically. I am hoping to get the time to start back on the body and get a few very minor issues taken care of and spray some paint soon. Stay tuned...

Got a really wild hair this evening....

Shot the passenger side of the bed and the tailgate....white white white.... I think I like it...

My daughter visited yesterday and took some professional pics of my truck...

Removed all of the trim, door handles, etc on Monday. It took forever to get the grill out as the bolts 're-rusted' and had to be coerced. Spent some time yesterday sanding, filling, cutting and welding. The drivers door had some pin holes (about 6) right at the bottom in the middle. I knew that I was going to have to deal with this eventually. So I cut out the bad metal, about 3x8 inch area, and welded in fresh clean metal. I'm not good enough to not have to skim it with filler. I'm hoping to get time today (Wednesday) to finish sanding the door and I'm hoping to shoot paint tomorrow or Friday morning. Our local cruise-in is Saturday evening. Pics to follow...

Ready for paint...I need to sand the cowl area a little more...

The door turned out great...

Later today I will mask it up, clean it down one last time and probably shoot it in the a.m. Pics to come...

I seem to be confused by the sequence of your posts. Earlier posts appeared to show the truck under new paint, then all of a sudden its back in primer. Regardless, you've made great progress and have some great results.

Sorry for the confusion....I had a photoshopped pic of the truck that I posted. One of the guys on the HAMB did that for me so that I could see what the truck would look like in white. I also have a photoshopped pic of it in satin black and one with it white and red. I like the white.

The All White version is the one that I like the most...

Photoshop is pretty neat and can help you to better visualize what you want to accomplish.

looking forward to seeing pictures of your truck after you paint it. The side trim on your truck looks to be in great shape. In my neck of the woods the side trim was the first thing to get dinged up or torn off on these year trucks...

Thanks Jason. The trim is in good shape, but the two pieces on either side of the bed have a few small dingles in them. I have worked on them a little to try to get them straightened out. I took the side windows out this afternoon and sanded around the window openings and I am thinking that I will be spraying paint tomorrow. Pics will follow....

Here's pics....I had just unmasked the truck and shot these. Matte White or as some might say...Satin White. I have to respray one fender and the top. Cruise-in tomorrow night, don't know if I'll have it back together in time...





Pieces and parts to reassemble...but I like the white against the red...

Worked all afternoon...painted the FORD letters on the tailgate red and outlined with black pinstripe. Cleaned the aluminum trim and re-painted the red stripe....installed part of the trim and ran out of time and daylight. I was my 35th wedding anniversary today, so...I had to quit early and take her out for dinner. Will finish trim installation tomorrow and post some pics...stay tuned.

Wow Steve! Great looking truck! I really like your color scheme. That matte white is great. Thanks for posting so many great pics. Your restoration is motivation for me to get out in the garage.

Now to get busy under the hood. It's a mess under there, so some cleaning and detailing is in order...also, I will be upgrading the rear axle gear ratio at some point for better cruiseability...stay tuned...
