still have not got the head done, thats really all thats left on the engine.
my clifford intake came the other day (thanks Ben), need to get or make headers. might make them .

messed with a 1980 seat and got it ready to go in.

took a 4" grinder with a stiff wire brush to the floorboards in the cab. only came up with one small hole on the pass side right by the hump.

going to scrub the floor with ospho and then prime and put a coat of paint on so i can put the seat back in on a clean floor.i will have to take out the seat again when i do the whole interior but i need to be able to drive it.

floor fun

took my 4" grinder with a hard wire wheel to the floor

then i took the vents out and knocked out the sand and hosed out the cowl till all the crud was gone. lots of fine sand packed in with some leaf mush in the cowl. floor is still wet from hosing out

Looks like a pretty good truck. My 63 had more floor rust on it here in Phoenix.

got the head done last night, valves and seats refaced and put back together. whole job only took about 1.5 hours. the cleaning takes way more time than the actual seat refacing and valve grinding.
going to finish the assembly and paint today so i can bring it home.

brought the engine home today.

ever drive with an engine on the stand in the back of a truck? my friend loaded it up with his forklift, sure saved scratching any of the paint by not setting it on the bed floor.

primed the oil pump before installing the dist. , went up to 65 psi but no higher, must be where the pressure relief spring is set.seemed to come up from 0 to 65 pretty fast once primed.

maybe next week i can start removing the old one and getting this one in.
