Isn't a "wrongbox" a perfect example of using what they had. Specially since it got used right until 66 in the F250 and F350s

Surely it wasn't the graceful and seamless transition between cab and bed that prompted its continuance. :roll:

That is interesting about the July 4th build date for Promo vehicles. My 1968 Torino GT convertible factory pace car replica has a May 30th build date on the door tag as has the handful of other Torino Pace cars I have seen. The Marti report (which I misplaced drat!) has I recall an actual build date of around May 17th. The May 30th build date is the day of the race and was the day Memorial day used to be on, now I believe it't the last Monday of May. The factory of course was closed someone at Ford with a sense of humor I think used that date.
