Seat belts? Just lap, shoulder or more?

Go for lap belts. Shoulder belts are no fun in an old pickup.

Honestly, it really is not hard at all. I got mine from GEM as well.

You need a drill and best of all is to weld the nut for the third upper point on the flat side of a 1" peice of strap iron, about 8" long. You drill a hole through the inside stiffener in the corner at your ear height. Useing the 8" strap iron/nut combo, you thread the third point bolt in from the outside. You do this AFTER the rear corner headliner is in place. Pop the upper head liner back in, and the third point has a little decorative cap to cover the bolt and it looks all pretty.

The nut gets welded in the 1" strap iron about 2" from the end. That strap iron will take the whole corner stiffener out before it lets you hit the windshield.

And if the stiffener lets go and you hit the windshield -- well just imagine how much HARDER you would have hit the windshield without the shoulder belt.

IF ANYONE says they don't have a welder to weld the nut on, just PM me and I will send you for free a pair of strap irons with nuts the size you need welded to them. Call it my contribution to your life.....

so i went out and looked at my truck.... i dont like the look of seeing the retractor and i dont have a tank in the cab.. has anyone mounted the retractor behind the seat and ran the belt up to the b pillar and down to the buckle like newer vehicles? i think i am goin to look at my option this weekend at the yard, some thing that wont look added on, just kinda blend in.
