Truck oil pans

Yes , the truck oil pans do work , and yes they do have one baffel about mid way across the pan. like Uncle Skip said , use a windage tray and all will be fine . Also , as for the extra oil being pumped up into the valve covers, as the others have said , you do need a restriction under the rocker stand. I have found , and do use a jet out of an old Stromberg carb is the best for this job , perfect fit in the oil passage and it stays put - won`t go up or down. I know , because I have used this set up in the XL and also in my SOHC pulling tractor. The best jet size is anything between a #65 up to a #73 or 4.

I also "resemble" that remark about being slow & sleeping, I have a good excuse , "like the little bird said when he fell off the limb , My feet don`t match". LOL

I must confess, I've done the oil restrictor thing in the past. I thought in this day and age, there might be somthing better. I prefer the drilled set screws but all of the modifications mentioned work quite well.
